Dietary Aide STARTING RATE: $15hr. SHIFT: Full-time and Part-time JOB SUMMARY: The Dietary Aide provides and maintains a high standard of food service, sanitary and safety conditions for patients, residents, visitors and employees as directedinstructed, and in accordance with established dietary policies and procedures. Duties & responsibilities include, but are not limited to: * Serves meals that are timely, palatable, appetizing in appearance and are in accordance with established portion control procedures and therapeutic diet * Assists in daily or scheduled cleaning duties in accordance with established policies and procedures to include but not limited to work tables, meat blocks, refrigeratorsfreezers, sweepmop floors as directed, carry soiled utensilsdishes to work areas, wash and clean utensils as directed, empty trash containers into dumpsters, clean cans and replace trash can liners * Keeps work area dry and free of hazards and sanitizes dining room tables and chairs * Follows all safety regulations, infection controluniversal precautions, food safety regulations and facility policies and procedures * Prepares and portions food items such as desserts, salads, juices, coffee, and nourishments * Accurately take and record temperatures of food, beverages and equipment as directed by the Food Service Director, Assistant Food Service Director andor Dietary Supervisor every meal. * Makes efforts to ensure that patientresident's needs and preferences are accommodated, i.e.: alternate menus offered, special request nourishmentssnacks provided upon request, etc. Requirements: * Minimum of 17 years of age; high school diploma or equivalent preferred * Previous dietary experience preferred * High degree of personal cleanliness and hygiene required; health status suitable for food service required * Ability to read and understand work assignments, as well as report verbally and provide written documentation as necessary * Respect for residents' privacy and rights; display of genuine concern and empathy for the elderly * Able to perform tasks while upholding high standards of quality, cleanliness and kindness * Qualities of responsibility, diplomacy and ability to work well with fellow staff members * Physical endurance for frequent activity About Us: The McGuire Group is a portfolio of six health care facilities in New York state, including: Autumn View Health Care Facility in Hamburg; Brookhaven Health Care Facility in East Patchogue; Garden Gate Health Care Facility in Cheektowaga; Harris Hill Nursing Facility in Williamsville; Northgate Health Care Facility in North Tonawanda and Seneca Health Care Center in West Seneca.
