Refer to the Life Support Training Policy for additional details.Licensure: State EMTParamedic certification. Advance Life Support Attendant: Paramedic. Emergency Vehicle Operators Course (EVOC). Valid Driver's License - must produce acceptable DMV driving record. AHA BLS, ACLS, PALS.Additional SkillsRequirements Required: Must remain calm and organized in emergent situations. Must be available for rotating shifts as required. Must have keen sense of responsibility, ability to make decisions, and work independently. Must have good judgment. Must have basic computer knowledge. Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing. Must be able to interact effectively with the public. Perform IVIO access including ED. Operate mechanical ventilators. Operate under REMS and department protocols to include special MD orders. Other duties as assigned under the scope of practice of Virginia as a Paramedic.Additional SkillsRequirements Preferred: NAPHYSICAL DEMANDSPhysical Demand Code: 10A, Emergency MedicalWork FunctionActivity: Medium to Heavy Physical DemandThe job requires constant sitting, standing, walking, and bendingstooping. Frequent repetitive body movements. Proficient communicative, auditory, and visual skills. Attention to detail and ability to write legibly. Ability to liftpushpull up to 100 lbs. occasionally.
