Patient Access Float Who You Are: You are a dynamic and adaptable professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment. With a strong background in patient access functions and a commitment to outstanding customer service, you are ready to provide flexible coverage across various roles within the Patient Access department. What You'll Do: * Cover all Patient Access functions, including ED Registration, Main Admissions Registration, Pre-Registration, and Prior Authorizations during staff absences or vacancies. * Collaborate with the Department Coordinator and Supervisor to prioritize coverage needs. * Serve as a backup for Point of Service collection batching and daily processing. * Accurately complete registrations for hospitalists and resolve authorization denials. * Assist in training new and existing staff across all functions. * Support special revenue cycle projects as directed by the supervisor. * Ensure compliance with policies and procedures for capturing patient information. * Address errors from staff communications and postdeliver Point of Service collections. * Provide exceptional service to all customers and support teamwork within the department. * Engage in emergency preparedness activities and maintain adherence to infection control protocols. What You'll Bring: * High school diploma or equivalent; experience in insurance and registration in a facility or provider office setting preferred. * A minimum of 3 years' experience in insurance and registration. * Strong ability to multi-task and maintain attention to detail. * Knowledge of medical terminology and patient demographics. * Physical capability to perform lifting, standing, and moving tasks. * Excellent verbal communication skills to convey detailed information and instructions. * A customer-oriented mindset with experience handling challenging situations. * Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and confidentiality policies.
