Job Overview:Schedule: Full time, regular, 35 hours per weekDaytime, evening, and overnight shifts availableRelief Position: This post requires the flexibility and dependability to cover a second shift in the instance of a call out or no show (face-to-face relief)Location: Fully onsite in the Lower East SidePay: $22 an hour, non-exemptJob Summary:The Resident Assistant plays an intricate role within our 24 hour7 day a week shelters to ensure the safety and security of the facilities as well as the residents, team members, property. The Resident Assistant needs to be flexible working various shifts and will be responsible for supporting residents daily working closely with the operations and social service teams to meet contractual obligations to fulfill the programs' core purpose, values, and vision statements.Required Certifications:Must have security license upon hireMust have or obtain First Aid, CPR, and F-80 (Certificate of Fitness for Coordinator of Fire Safety and Alarm System) certifications within 3 months of employment Must have PPD clearance within 3 months of employmentQualifications:High school diploma or equivalent required.Crisis intervention and de-escalation experience required.Demonstrated ability to provide services to clients with psychiatric and medical disabilitiesAppropriate verbal and written communication skillsComputer system and software experienceAbility to remain calm in stressful situationsenvironmentMinimum of 2 years of experience working in the human services field, experience within homeless services a plusBilingual (EnglishSpanish) preferredResponsibilities:Create a welcoming environment while monitoring entrances of buildings to ensure safety and security. Manage and review daily sign-in sheet.Assist all program staff in conflict intervention and management of residents. Provide security and monitor all internal and external areas of the form proper personnel when an incident occurs; maintain daily written logs and incident reports of shelter security activity.Assist residents in cleaning and prepping apartments while they are moving in and out of the facility. Provide assistance with building maintenance and cleaning, including snow removal as municate with clients about the program's mission, structure, and approach to treatment.Provide and document relevant information about a client to program staff, record observable physical, mental, and behavioral changes in clients' condition.Proactively working to engage clients in the program, support opportunities for therapeutic recreation and socializationConducting walkthroughs around the facility to monitor and provide security for all internal and external areas of the facility.Responding to crises; complete incident reports immediately following incidents or accidentsAssist in serving meals to residents, maintain record of meals served and inform shift supervisor of problems with food delivery.Provide clerical support to operational and office team members.Foster seamless service provision across shiftsPerform all other duties as assigned by supervisor.Essential Physical Job Functions:Able to sit and stand for long periods of time as neededAble to climb several flights of stairs throughout the dayFully vaccinated against COVID-19Able to work onsite in the Lower East Side
