Serving children in PK3 through 5th grade, LAMB is a community that is committed to children and promotes peace and equality for all.Job OverviewThe Dedicated Aide is responsible for providing educational and behavioral support to students in an atmosphere where students have the opportunity to fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and psychological growth.Duties and ResponsibilitiesWork one-on-one with a student to help support academic instruction and guide behavior as neededImplement prescribed behavioral strategies and positive behavior supportSupport the classroom teachers in providing a learning environment in which students with differing learning modalities may attain successAttend and participate in mandatory professional development sessions and meetingsRemain current with trends, techniques, and advances in technology that are applicable to the programSupport the bilingual goal of the school by modeling first and second language (Spanish) for all students. Maintain the welfare and safety of students by following school regulations and the Positive Behavior Intervention matrix. Serve as a model for appropriate student behavior in the school environmentCollect daily data to track student progress in the areas of behavior and academics as neededProvide feedback to teachers about student behaviors, performance, or any observation relevant to the children.Collaborate with the Montessori Teacher, Special Education Teacher, special education service providers (speech, PT, OT), and other Assistant Teachers to address student needs in the classroomParticipate in school activities: special events, field trips, workshops, etc. Provide administrative support to the special education teamHelp with recess, lunch, and transitionsOther duties as assignedBasic QualificationsAssociate's Degree or 48 college credit hours or have successfully passed the ParaPro Assessment administered by ETS (with a high school diploma or equivalent) preferredABA or RBT training and experience preferredExperience working with students with disabilitiesEnergetic, flexible, imaginative, and eager to work in a bilingual and multicultural public schoolEnglish fluency required; Bilingual (EnglishSpanish) preferredPlease note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
