Description Pay Rate: $18.00 to $20.00 HourlyFull Time: 35 Hours Monday-Friday 9:30am-4:30pm GENERAL SCOPE: The Recreation and Program Assistant is responsible for providing recreation programs for guests including leading programs either in collaboration with the House Manager or in the absence of the House Manager. Additionally this role will assist the House Manager with coordinating dietary plans, completing housekeeping tasks, providing medication reminders and other related work as assigned to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for guests. EDUCATION / QUALIFICATION: Must have High School diploma or GED. Must be fluent in English and have adequate written and verbal communication skills. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Direct planned as well as spontaneous recreation activities to guests to encourage and promote utilization of guests remaining strength and promote the highest level of guest functioning. Be in charge of recreation activities, programs and operations in the absence of the House Manager. Assists with housekeeping duties to maintain standards of sanitation by dusting, vacuuming, cleaning bathrooms and removing trash. Completes laundry tasks. Plans, prepares and serves meals and snacks in collaboration with House Manager. Assists Member during meals as needed. Provides medication reminders. Reports any changes in behavior or unusual incidents to House Manager. Completes annual education requirements. OTHER FUNCTIONS: Communicate with families regarding the guest's response to daily programs. Responsive to guest needs and preferences. Maintain confidentiality of guest information. Treat all guests with dignity and respect. Perform all assigned tasks in a safe, sanitary and efficient manner in accordance with our established policies and procedures. Other job duties as assigned. EXPERIENCE: At least one year of working with the elderly in the past 5 years . Experience working with individuals with dementia desirable.
