This job was posted by : For more information, please see: Position Summary: Responsible for cultivating, underwriting and delivering agriculture and commercial credit to existing and prospective bank customers. Responsible for managing and servicing an agriculture and commercial loan portfolio. Also responsible for business development of new agricultural and commercial business relationships including the cross selling of products to existing customers. Participates in the business development activities of the Bank and focuses on growing deposits, loans, and fee income in a profitable manner. This high contact position requires the ability to initiate and develop prospective customers and cultivate current client relationships through a proactive and professional sales approach. Primary Responsibilities: Participates in the business development and other credit activities of the Bank. Identifies appropriate prospects within defined target markets, creates and manages an effective prospect list and perform activities to ensure growth in loan portfolios. Serves our prospects and customers through a consultative selling, trusted advisor role to assist them in recognizing and tackling business opportunities and risks, and helping them accomplish their goals while maximizing our effectiveness. Promotes and cross-sells all bank products and services as appropriate. Seeks out expertise within the company to assist in the development of customer relationships. Gathers and evaluates financial statements and related data from the prospect or customer to determine potential credit worthiness and appropriate credit terms and structure. Leads constructive discussions with clients and prospects regarding succession planning, growth strategies through organic efforts and/or acquisition, access to capital planning, strategic planning, and specific industry characteristics and trends. Prepares for, attends and participates in sales development meetings, loan committee meetings and credit training meetings. Participates in the underwriting and documentation of the credit. Utilizes knowledge and resources from bank management, the credit department, industry specialists and other interested parties to exchange information and ideas in order to determine the best credit type, structure and terms to meet the needs of the borrower and the profitability and risk tolerance of the bank. Ensures that all relevant information is provided to the credit department in a timely and efficient manner. Utilizes the credit department to assist in the underwriting of all credits over individual lending limits. Obtains and documents credit approval. Assures that all client documents, customer agreements, and required loan and supporting documentation are obtained and accurate. Also assures that funds are not released until all documents are properly executed. Participates in the management of a loan portfolio. Monitors the portfolio for credit quality. Understands, detects and reports the early warning signs of problem credits so as to minimize the risk of credit loss and to maintain appropriate risk ratings on all loans. Ensures that borrower annual reviews and collateral monitoring are completed on a timely basis. Continuously monitors customer performance and maintains timely reporting to include the receipt of and review of required financial information. Performs loan servicing activities by pursuing the collection of any delinquent account immediately and formulates actions plans to remedy delinquent or past due loans. Follows up on any open documentation exceptions or tickler items such as insurance, collateral exceptions, financial information, etc. Provides timely response to customer loan servicing requests. Ensures compliance with all Bank policies and procedures, particularly loan regulations, and all applicable state and federal banking laws, rules and regulations including Bank Secrecy Act and Anti Money Laundering to assist management in monitoring for suspicious activity, money laundering, or other illegal customer activity. Actively involved and seeks leadership role in community activities that will promote the bank and/or assist in business development. Continuously seeks additional knowledge and training to enhance sales, credit, and people skills. Completes annual E-Learning Plan and regulatory training.
