Job Description: Payroll Specialist (9-Month Contract) Role: Hybrid - 3 Days in Office, 2 Days Remote Position Overview: The Payroll Specialist is responsible for accurately processing payroll, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, and providing excellent support to employees. This role requires expertise in payroll child support and garnishments and involves entering data from time sheets, production records, or individual time cards into a computerized payroll system. The Payroll Specialist will balance payroll runs, produce necessary tax payments, and address employee inquiries and issues related to payroll. Key Responsibilities: Input data from time sheets, production records, or individual time cards into the payroll system. Balance payroll runs to ensure accuracy. Produce federal, state, and local tax payments. Address and resolve employee questions and issues related to payroll. Handle payroll-related child support and garnishments. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. 2-3 years of experience in payroll, specifically with child support and garnishments. Minimum of 5 years of experience in the payroll field or a related area. Proficiency with computerized payroll systems. Strong knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within the payroll field. Ability to follow instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform job functions. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Supervision and Work Environment: Works under immediate supervision. Primary job functions do not typically require exercising independent judgment. The role is a hybrid position, requiring 3 days in the office and 2 days working remotely.
