Division: Headquarters Project Location(s): New York, NY 10001 USA Minimum Years Experience: 4 Travel Involved: 0-10% Job Type: Regular Job Classification: Experienced Education: Bachelors Degree Job Family: Construction Compensation: Salaried Exempt Position Description: Provide analysisof Technology systems and input to perform technical reviews, mitigatepotential design risk related to Technology (Low Voltage) work, identify, andsolve construction challenges, and generate optimization opportunities forpursuit and execution of design-build and design-bid-build systems projects. Technology Systems will include, but not limitedto Network Communications, Security Systems, Audiovisual Systems and otherSpecial Systems for specific market verticals. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Perform technical reviews related to technology work of projects to assess constructability, examine design details, perform quantity takeoffs, and recommend construction sequencing and logistics. Review and evaluate project specific designs, program intent, contractual obligations, division of responsibilities, and deliverables as it relates to Technology work. Review and assess project documentation such as basis of design documents (BOD), drawings, specifications, reports, submittals, and shop drawings. Review documents for code compliance with local / national code requirements as well as implementation of industry recognized standards and guidelines. Propose potential solutions to the design/construction team for design optimization, risk mitigation strategies, constructability, and coordination improvements, offer sustainability and resiliency options as related to technology work. Provide review and guidance for project non-conformances and operational issues. Establish constructive and effective relationships and collaborate with internal/external project stakeholders including Clients, Design Consultants, Vendors, Subcontractors, Turner Business Units to facilitate understanding and influence design and project development. Partners with linked design disciplines, e.g., Geotechnical, Structural, Building Envelop, Code-compliance, Architectural, MEFP, Sustainability/Resiliency, Vertical transportation, Acoustics, etc., to improve the coordination of design concepts. Develop TEG Talks, A3s, Case Studies, Optimization Solutions, QA/QC Papers and other technical documentation for the Turner Community as well as participate in TEG-led presentations as needed. Perform other duties as necessary or assigned. Qualifications: B.S. in Electrical Engineering with a minimumof four years of industry experience as an Engineer; Licensed as a ProfessionalEngineer is recommended but not required. Having or more of the following credentials is highly desirable: Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) Data Center Design Consultant (DCDC) Certified Technology Specialist (CTS, CTS-D) Accredited Security Professional (APP, PSP, CPP) Certified Cisco Network Associate or Professional (CCNA, CCNP) Must have theability to think and write in a highly structured, detailed and analyticalmanner while also having the required creativity to develop specializedsolutions and anticipating potential challenges and opportunities. Enjoy working in an interdisciplinary teamenvironment. Must have design experienceon a diverse array of projects through all phases of design and construction,with a focus on all Technology/Low Voltage Systems elements. Experience withpeer reviews and/or due diligence studies. Projects will be located throughoutthe U.S and travel is possible. Experience with U.S. building design codes andmaterial specific standards. Experience with using general collaborationsoftware (i.e., BlueBeam Studio) and operation of 3D and BIM software (e.gNavisworks, AutoCAD, Revit, Rhino, SketchUp). Able to communicate in aprofessional environment effectively and clearly via verbal and written means.Knowledge of Technology products and costs. Continued development of expertiseand awareness of innovations in the industry.
