(International Brotherhood of Teamsters) FT/PT Full-Time Category Campus/Auxilary/Transportation, Facilities, Public Safety Position Summary SHIFT: Monday - Friday 7:00AM - 3:30PM Under the direction of the Manager of the Central HVAC Shop, responsible for assisting in operating, troubleshooting, maintaining and repairing HVAC systems and related auxiliary equipment. Qualifications Required Education: High School diploma or equivalent. Preferred Education: Some college and/or a completion certificate from a recognized trade school desirable Required Experience: 3 years of experience with HVAC equipment systems; a general knowledge of electrical, plumbing, mechanical, carpentry, sheet metal, insulation, soldering, and various control systems. Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Good communication skills and ability to follow written and verbal instructions. **Must be able to obtain NYC Refrigeration License within 2 years of hire date**. Must be available to work nights and weekends.Physical Requirements:Applicants must be in good health and must have and retain physical strength, including the ability to lift items up to 50 lbs., physical stamina, and agility, visual and auditory acuity to perform the essential responsibilities of the position. Applicants must be able to operate departmental equipment, use hands repetitively, walk or stand for extended periods while on duty, climb and descend stairs and ladders, and have the ability to listen and communicate calmly, effectively, and courteously in both emergency and non-emergency situations. Additional Information In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the hourly rate for this position is USD $42.828. This rate is based on bargaining unit contracts. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
