Maintain general ledger as needed. Analyze financial data to prepare financial reports. Investigate budget and variance issues. Maintain records of assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liability, or other financial activities. Roles and Responsibilities: Prepares, complies, and processes journal entries and other financial transactions and performs account reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of account balance and the proper accounting treatment of transactions. Maintains multiple financial system records by entering, reconciling, and monitoring various input data to ensure that all financial information is properly recorded. Prepares worksheets, financial statements, and reports to provide management with information for decision making, and to ensure that all reporting requirements are satisfied. Performs analyses of selected general ledger accounts, identifies and resolves reconciling items and accounting issues on a timely basis. Performs various accounting duties related to processing bills, inventory, control of fixed asse records, preparation of federal and state external reports, maintenance of department action slips, agency obligations, and bank reconciliations. Education, Experience, and Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in accounting. Three (3) years of applied accounting experience. Any combination of relevant experience and education can be substituted. Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of basic accounting principles Experience using accounting software such as Oracle, Peoplesoft, SAP etc. are required. Oracle Systems experience highly desired. Strong accounting and communication skills are required. Must be proficient in MS software applications including but not limited to Excel, Word, Access, Outlook.
