Starting Salary Range $52,723 - $71,733 Job Summary: The Accountant - Payroll assists with the payroll functions of the organization, ensuring pay is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations. Other responsibilities include preparing journal entries, reconciling general ledger and sub-ledgers, providing ad-hoc analyses, and researching and interpreting data to answer accounting and finance questions. Essential Job Responsibilities: Assists the Payroll Manager to maintain and review payroll processing and accounting systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions. Assists with accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates. Prepares and maintains accurate records and reports of payroll transactions. Assists with compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices. Assists with internal and external audits by providing records and documentation to auditors. Identifies and recommends updates to payroll accounting software, systems, and procedures. Reconciles various balance sheet and income statement accounts to the general ledger and sub-ledgers. Prepares and enters journal entries into general ledger. Maintains regular and on-time attendance. Follows all safety regulations. Supports MNAAs commitment to its culture and values, including Respect, Integrity, Service and Excellence (RISE). In lieu of a bachelors degree, 4-8 years of related payroll experience. 2 to 4 years of related payroll experience.
