Description Amazon Robotics is seeking a talented and motivated Electrical test Engineer who will be part of the Hardware Test Engineering team focused on next generation robotic system design. The electrical test engineer will plan, design, execute, and document testing of electrical systems and components. This will include the design of fixtures and the use of scripting to automate test to maximize efficiency. You will be responsible for leading and developing test strategies and solutions for new products, with a focus on automation, cycle time reduction, and improving product quality. Key job responsibilities You will work with hardware development, regulatory & compliance, program management, and other hardware test team members. The ideal candidate will draw upon previous electrical test engineer experience, critical thinking, and problem solving skills, and a passion for creating reliable and maintainable systems. A day in the life Meeting with cross-functional teams to understand the business needs for your project, reviewing and providing feedback on requirements, and developing test plans to verify and validate adherence to said requirements. Working with other Test Engineers, Hardware and Software developers regarding tools and techniques required for testing. Developing test fixtures, documentation, and test reports. About the team The Hardware Test Engineering team is responsible for testing any new prototype/pre-production hardware designs within Amazon's robotic solutions. We validate that any design meets our high standards for quality, efficiency, and most of all, safety. Basic Qualifications BS degree in electrical engineering or equivalent Experience with prototyping and implementation 4+ years of test development engineering experience Experience as lead on medium to large sized projects Knowledge of test equipment and test fixture design. Demonstrated expertise with test strategy development and implementation. Bench top electrical debug tool experience as well as electrical design of test circuitry is critical Preferred Qualifications Experience in gathering test requirements to create detailed test plans and defining quality metrics to measure product quality Basic scripting experience in a high-level programming language such as Python, Matlab, or LabVIEW Experience with electric motors and motor test methodology Experience in circuit level debug to the component level. Schematic capture tool experience with a desire to design low-level interface boards for test fixtures. Knowledge of Industrial power and automation is a plus Experience decomposing hardware requirements into test cases. Uses a strong analytical approach to problem solving.
