You will be converting SAS programs from mainframe & server over to GCP for various application teams within Ford Credit. In addition, you will be developing SAS programs in SAS Mainframe, SAS Linux and SAS Viya (on GCP) platforms. You will work in a collaborative environment that leverages paired programming, while working on a small agile team to deliver Enterprise Modernization of migrating data to GCP. Work effectively with fellow software engineers, product owners, data champions and other technical experts. Demonstrate technical knowledge and communication skills with the ability to advocate for well-designed solutions. Responsibilities Lead the design and implementation of scalable data architectures using Cloud SQL and Big Query. Oversee the integration of data solutions with existing systems to ensure seamless operations. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members to foster skill development. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications. Ensure data solutions are optimized for performance reliability and security. Conduct regular reviews and audits of data systems to identify and address potential issues. Develop and maintain documentation for data architectures processes and best practices. Implement data governance policies to ensure data integrity and compliance with industry standards. Monitor and analyze system performance metrics to drive continuous improvement. Engage with stakeholders to understand business needs and provide data-driven insights. Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to ensure our data solutions remain cutting-edge. Facilitate knowledge sharing and training sessions to promote best practices within the team. Contribute to the strategic planning of data initiatives to support the companys long-term goals. Qualifications 10+ years of professional development and administration experience Possess strong technical skills in Cloud SQL and BigQuery. Have a background in Operations and Production Management or the Automotive Industry is a plus. Demonstrate excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail. Exhibit strong communication and collaboration skills. Show proficiency in designing and implementing scalable data architectures. Display a commitment to continuous learning and professional development. Have experience in data governance and compliance practices. Skills Required: Experience in Google Cloud Platform (especially BigQuery) SAS Viya 4.0 programming SAS 9.4 programming on Linux and Mainframe platforms Mainframe experience (JCL, COBOL, CA7, DB2) Experience using Teradata Experience writing Python and shell scripts on Linux Salary and Other Compensation Applications will be accepted until 10/1/2024. The annual salary for this position is between $100,000 - $117,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
