We are currently working in partnership with a global chemicals and advanced materials manufacturer based in the Chicago, IL area, who are looking for a Chemist to join their growing team. As a Chemist, you will lead the development of energy curable materials for a wide range of industrial applications, improving quality, efficiency and profitability by successfully bringing new technology to the business. To be considered for this role, you will have a science-based degree (i.e. Chemistry, Polymer Science), with 3-5 years of experience in the laboratory, developing and formulating new energy curable materials from initial concept through to commercialization. Alternatively, you will have a PhD in a science-based field such as Chemistry, with research, academia or internship experience focusing on formulating and developing energy-curable polymers. It would also be beneficial if you have previous supervisory experience of chemists & laboratory technicians, as you will be assisting and guiding junior members through projects. This is an excellent position for a global leader in the industry. Basic salary is $85,000-$100,000, - fully dependent on a variety of factors relating to the experience of the applicant. Other great benefits will also be included, as well as an option for relocation assistance should it be required. Key Responsibilities To formulate and develop new energy curable materials to add to a well-established, market leading product portfolio Develop existing products within the product portfolio to increase performance most importantly, and reduce costs where possible To conduct testing and analysis on customer complaints, determining root causes to resolve any issues Role Requirements A degree in a scientific field, such as Chemistry or Polymer Science. 3-5 years of experience developing energy curable materials, working on projects from initial concept through to commercialization. Alternatively, a PhD with research, academia or internship experience focusing on formulating and developing energy-curable polymers will be considered Preferably have prior experience supervising junior chemists and laboratory technicians
