Description JOB SUMMARY We are seeking a Quality Assurance Specialist II who will have multi-functional responsibilities related to ensuring delivery of the highest quality and reliability of electronic assemblies, systems and many other electro-mechanical commodities to Doble's internal and external customers. The main responsibilities are focused on ensuring that all products received at our incoming inspection area are evaluated and meet our specifications and standards for use in production of our products and equipment. Maintain and manage a database (NCR - Non-Conforming Report) related to inspection results and process of returning materials when Non-Conforming materials do not meet Doble's requirements. This individual will be tasked with training members of the operations and quality organizations to perform inspection and testing to meet worldwide delivery schedules related to revenue goals. Quality objectives will require a demonstrated knowledge to understand the many processes involved in the manufacturing of PCB Assemblies by our suppliers. Timely feedback is a must when results by this individual are transmitted to internal and external customers to affect meeting schedules and deadlines. This role will be based in our Marlborough, MA office reporting to the Senior Manager of Manufacturing Quality Engineering. Perform visual inspection of a wide variety of commodities to support Doble cross-functional teams (Design Engineering, Quality, Customer Service, Operations and Material Control) prior to release for shipments to our worldwide customers to meet the overall goal of Customer Satisfaction. Will have responsibilities with interface directly with multiple disciplines across the Doble community regarding issues that affect product, specifications, quality and reliability of product deliveries to our internal and external customers. Maintain an electronic database of new and legacy test equipment that is constantly updated to meet requirements associated with ISO standards for calibration of our products. Provide independent input to the Doble Engineering Operations, Manufacturing, Electrical Test and Engineering Organizations on a daily basis to support system / bench testing, and revenue shipments. Participate as a member of the MRB team to document, deliver and help disposition defective materials on a timely basis as related to continuous engineering. Inspect and test as needed incoming components, assemblies, PCB's and metal structures to ensure conformance to engineering drawings and specifications. Perform 1st article evaluation as related to NPI, on-going products and cost reduction programs Associates degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering is preferred, but not required. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: Must have a minimum of eight (8) years of experience working within an electro-mechanical manufacturing and processing environment. Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a manufacturing, production and testing environment as Quality Assurance Specialist or equivalent experience Proven experience with interpreting drawings, specifications and procedures associated with incoming inspection of mechanical / electrical components and commodities supplied to Doble Engineering. The individual must have formal training in the areas of IPC (610 and 600) related to understanding and inspection and processing of PCB Assemblies. Must have demonstrated experience with databases such as: MRP, MRB, NAV, Omnify and other internal databases related to supporting Doble's cross functional teams (Engineering, Operations, Quality, Customer / Client Service Groups) related to meeting company goals and objectives for continuous improvement and customer satisfaction. Demonstrated experience in problem solving and identifying process and workmanship defects in support of on-going product manufacturing and assembly. Must be able to differentiate between isolated defects and chronic problems and have a clear understanding of the difference between a FIX and a Solution. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: Proficiency in Microsoft Suite Must understand the process flow for determining root cause and corrective action while working with a cross functional team approach Ability to read, write and communicate to internal and external customers in the English language Must have the ability to multitask and be proficient at time management to support the requirements and needs of multiple groups across the Doble community Ability to perform visual inspection using high magnification equipment on mechanical and electrical components and sub-assemblies (Visual Acuity). Maintain focused concentration during visual, mechanical / electrical inspection and testing of to ensure the highest quality of materials that will eventually be shipped to our internal and external customers. Operate equipment and lift (elevator) for movement of materials and or finished goods from receiving/storage areas to the Incoming Inspection and testing Area(s). Manual dexterity in the use of tools and equipment associated with mechanical and electrical assembly and product evaluation of all commodities that are supplied to Doble Engineering by our suppliers. Ability to use hand tools as related to manufacturing and assembly of mechanical and electronic sub-assemblies and products designed and developed our Doble Engineering Teams. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: While performing the duties of this job the employee is often required to stand, sit, use computers, read, write, type, use copy machines, file paperwork, use telephones, and utilize written and oral communication to interact with clients, co-workers, and customers.
