Expected Length of Internship: Fall 2024 (est. September- December). As an internship company, we allow flexibility to enroll in classes while working as an intern, as long as it doesn't interfere with the essential functions of the position. Education/Experience: Must currently be enrolled in BS or higher degree in a technical discipline with relevant work experience in a manufacturing and/or research environment with related statistical analysis, data mining and technical leadership skills 1+ years of relevant work experience or internship in related statistical analysis, data mining and computer language programming skills. Basic statistics Course work in Applied Statistics is preferred First Solar encourages all interns to register their internship with their university. Required Skills/Competencies: Safety first mindset Skills in applying analytical tools to large data sets and communicating the results in a concise manner. Skills with MS Office, Excel, Word, and Power Point, etc. Software Engineering Experience using PyTorch and/or Tensorflow Framework(s) Programming Languages (at lease one is required): Python SAS JMP Scripting Language T-SQL Basic Internship Scope (Project): During your internship, you will be expected to create and document solutions requested by not only the Manufacturing Engineering Analystics Team, but also from others in the organization. Develop digital assets (models, analytics, pipelines, services, reports) that support the business to achieve its goals. Labelling and training of computer vision models. Creating and Monitoring Analytical Solutions. Developing documented code and refining best practices. Other duties as assigned. Job description subject to change at any time. The role requires onsite work, however remote work is allowed as needed with prior approval. Estimated Salary Range: $18.00 - $24.00 hourly. US Physical Requirements: Project Site (non-craft) Requirements: Will sit, stand or walk short distances for up to the entire duration of a shift. Will climb stairs on an occasional basis. Will lift up to 51 pounds of force on an occasional basis. Will push or pull up to 27 pounds of force on an occasional basis. Required to use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry or feel objects on a frequent basis. 20/40 vision in each eye, with or without correction, and the ability to distinguish between red, yellow and green is required. Must be able to comply with all safety standards and procedures. May reach above shoulder heights and below the waist on a frequent basis. May stoop, kneel, or bend, on an occasional basis. Ability to wear personal protective equipment is required (including but not limited to; steel toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, protective jacket or apron and arm guards).
