Job Title: Business Relations Managers Department: NY Municipal Comm Bus Rel Reports to: Regional Manager - Municipal Comm Bus Re Location: In Office, Oneonta NY The base salary range for this position is dependent upon experience and location, ranging from: $101,404 - $126,755 JOB REQUIREMENTS: MAJOR ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Scope of work - range of responsibilities): 1. Manage the outreach function with key business customers and organizations by serving as the primary point of contact to establish and maintain excellent relationships with these stakeholders. Outreach includes company issues, projects, and initiatives. 2. Responsible for managing a portfolio of the largest and/or most politically sensitive business customers. 3. Influences and advises key business customers on natural gas and electric related issues including, but not limited to, account management, collections, products and services and large projects. 4. Provides technical support and data analysis, interprets load data, and conducts tariff and policy interpretation. 5. Functions as team lead for various customer and company projects and initiatives including, but not limited to, interruptible gas, standby service, critical facilities. 6. Leads negotiations with customers on a variety of tariff, rate, and service issues. 7. Ensures company and customer compliance from a policy, safety, and regulatory standpoint. 8. Make recommendations to senior leadership regarding resolution of politically sensitive customer issues. 9. Serve as the economic development lead for business attraction and existing customer projects. Work collaboratively with relevant business areas to provide comprehensive proposals to secure new and expanded business opportunities and increased revenue. Support the achievement of economic development program objectives by presenting at key local and state level economic development meetings and serving on local economic develop boards to build awareness of the programs. 10. Provide technical, rate and customer service support to smaller business customers as requested to support other business areas. Education & Experience Required: Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 6 years' relevant experience is preferred or an Associate's Degree with 10 years' relevant experience. Relevant experience includes customer service, business to business relationships, operations, public affairs, government affairs or communications. Direct interaction with government, business, and community leaders. Skills/Abilities: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence. Ability to work targets and tight deadline. Confident decision maker. Contract negotiation skills. Strong technical aptitude. Ability to lead and guide complicated projects (project management). Excellent organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills. Excellent public speaking skills with the ability to deliver consistent messages to multiple stakeholders. Knowledge of the electric and natural gas utility business and the NYSEG/RG&E service areas is preferred. Ability to effectively interact with external stakeholders and senior management. Ability to manage multiple and often changing priorities, including crisis management. Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Power Point applications. Self-motivated and ability to work independently. Must have flexibility to travel.
