JOB DESCRIPTION Development and Grant Associate Location: New York, NY New York Common Pantry is one of the city's largest food pantries, providing food assistance, case management services, senior food provision, nutrition education, and hygiene services. We are a dynamic, mission-driven organization, experiencing rapid growth and expansion at this time. The Full-Time Development and Grant Associate will assist with several aspects of NYCP fundraising and interact with board members, funders, and staff. The Development and Grant Associate will also use Raiser's Edge, our database system while providing overall support to the Development team and Board Committees. The Full-Time Development and Grant Associate will report to the Senior Director of Institutional Giving, Events, and Communications at the 8 East 109th, New York, NY 10029 location. The schedule for this position is Monday through Friday: 9 am - 5 pm; 1 hour lunch. This is a Full-Time, hybrid position, 35 hours a week, non-exempt. Responsibilities: Assist with processing donations (checks, online gifts, wires, matching gifts, etc.) and with issuing acknowledgment letters. This will be in conjunction with the Senior Database and Systems Coordinator. Maintain Raiser's Edge database entries and dashboards and routinely update and correct database records as needed. Create and maintain routine fundraising reports via Raiser's Edge. Schedule board committee meetings for all committee members. Assemble materials for board committee meetings and attend meetings as necessary. Maintain government portals (Grants.gov, Passport, etc.) and manage city, state, and federal contract materials. Research, analyze, and present potential foundation, corporation, and government opportunities that fit with the organization's mission. Collaborate with the Senior Grant Writer to assess, maintain, develop, and execute NYCP's strategic grants process. Gather documentation required for proposals. Assist in managing proposals and reporting deadlines. Write and edit proposals, reports, supporting materials, letters of interest, etc. as needed for foundation, corporation, and government proposals. Build relationships with potential funders. Other responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications: A minimum of three (3) years of experience in an administrative position, preferably in a not-for-profit development office. A Bachelor's Degree is preferred. Must have a strong demonstrated proficiency with programs within MS Office and/or G-Suite. Excellent communication skills and judgment with the ability to maintain privacy and confidentiality. Strong familiarity with data entry and database management, prior experience with Raiser's Edge is highly preferred. Organizational skills and ability to work on several projects. Professional written and verbal communication skills. Detail-oriented with a professional demeanor. Ability to follow through and maintain accurate records.
