To learn more: POSITION SUMMARY Sony Corporation of America (SCA)is seeking a results-oriented Tax Director of International Reporting and Compliance. This individual will be responsible for overseeing US international tax matters for tax compliance and reporting purposes including, but not limited to FDII, GILTI, Subpart F, *861 allocations and FTC, *163j, withholding taxes, BEAT, PTEP calculations for 5471 reporting, as well as measuring the impact of proposed tax legislation and its future tax implications on the group. In addition, this individual will assist in the consolidation of Sony Corporation of America and several hundred foreign affiliates' IFRS tax provision and ensuring that Sony is compliant with Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404. The position will report to the Senior Director - International Tax Reporting and Compliance, SCA. This is a Hybrid opportunity requiring 3-4 days onsite in our NYC office. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Lead a team of 6 people in the International group; train, supervise and guide the team in various compliance issues including US tax technical analysis and educate foreign affiliate finance teams on US international tax reporting issues. Review and analyze key international tax compliance relating to Federal Forms 5471, 5472, 8858, 1118, 5713, 8992 and 8993. Should have a comprehensive understanding of E&P, Subpart F, GILTI, FTC and Section 861 expense allocation. Review required elections and disclosures such as check-the-box elections, DCL, GRA etc. Review and supervise preparation of supporting documentation of earnings and profits pool, FTC pool, PTEP, and US tax basis for foreign subsidiaries and/or branches. Model and present the impact of proposed and new tax legislation changes for US tax compliance and financial reporting purposes. Analyze existing tax reporting/compliance processes and recommend improvements to facilitate process efficiencies. Support tax controversy teams with International tax issues. QUALIFICATIONS FOR POSITION Your qualifications and experience should include: Requires a Bachelor's degree in Accounting and/or Finance. Master's Degree in Tax or Accounting strongly preferred. Must have at least 12 years experience in international tax for large corporate taxpayers including substantial international tax experience (minimum 4 years) with a Big 4 accounting firm. Demonstrated experience overseeing a tax team for at least 5 years and work well in a diverse multicultural environment. Experience with implementation and management of technology based solutions. Must have the ability to coordinate and work with cross function/business segment teams. Knowledgeable with tax compliance issues, US GAAP reporting. Experience with IAS 12 is a plus. Excellent analytical, organizational, interpersonal and communication skills. All candidates must be authorized to work in the USA. This range does not include any other compensation components or other benefits that an individual may be eligible for.
