As the Sr. Manager of Strategic Insights within our Corporate Strategy team, you'll play a crucial role in shaping Xylem's strategy by providing valuable market intelligence and competitive analysis and disseminating insights across our enterprise. The role will report into the VP, Strategy & Business Development. Your work will directly contribute to our mission of creating smart, sustainable solutions for water management. Responsibilities & Key Deliverables Market Intelligence: Develop and standardize market construction methodologies. Stay informed about our markets, industry trends, customer needs, and emerging technologies. Competitive Intelligence: Crowd-source and disseminate competitive insights across the organization. Understand our competitors' strengths, weaknesses, and strategies. Scenario Planning: Create scenario analyses to inform strategic decision-making. Anticipate potential challenges and opportunities. Corporate Strategy Alignment: Collaborate closely with the corporate and business strategy function. Ensure that our strategies align with Xylem's overall business objectives and contribute to long-term growth and profitability. External Consultants Management: Oversee external market and competitive assessment consultants. Leverage their expertise to enhance our strategic insights and decision-making processes. Qualifications Bachelor's degree required; ideally, a graduate degree in relevant fields such as engineering, computer science, business administration, law, or economics. Distinctive critical thinking abilities to tackle ambiguous business problems. Structure complex issues, collect relevant data, and generate actionable insights. Industry knowledge, with familiarity with the water industry and adjacent sectors (utilities, industrial processes, IoT). Interdisciplinary perspective, synthesizing insights from various fields (policy, economics, environmental science, engineering). Global experience, especially in emerging markets and cross-sectoral partnerships. Strong influencing skills to align stakeholders around strategic actions. Passion for advancing global sustainability through water management. Preferred Qualifications Experience working in a professional services environment with tight deadlines and a focus on complex client deliverables, such as management consulting, investment banking, law or accounting is preferable. Prior experience related to corporate strategy, partnerships and mergers and acquisitions would be a plus. Prior experience in a diversity of environments, such as multiple geographies, work across public/private/nonprofit sectors, and different functional roles. Day in the Life You'll work in a professional office environment, collaborating with colleagues across time zones (Asia, Europe, Americas). Expect occasional travel (up to 25%) for meetings and site visits. Our base location is Washington, DC, with the flexibility of a hybrid work arrangement.
