Busy OEM Manufacturer in Milwaukee is looking to hire a Mechanical Engineering Manager to lead their team. Previous experience in heavy manufacturing and ideally in the mining industry is required. This position is an extremely important position within the organization and is a very visible position. Some minimal travel may be required (Domestic and International). Duties of the Mechanical Engineering Manager: The incumbent must be able to communicate well with our inside team, customers, and vendor network Mentor and lead an engineering team (Growth, Training, Reviews) Effectively manage multiple projects from start-to-finish Build solid relationships between the engineers/draftsman and the machine shop Willing to work amongst a small group & check over each other's work before release Help aid in the design of heavy equipment for the mining industry Responsible for systems, final documentation, ECN's, and manuals Continuous improvement mindset for better technology, systems, and designs Preparing documentation of critical analysis and providing suggestions for correcting errors Collaborating with the G/M and the Project managers for proper allocation and tracking of resources Requirements Qualifications of the Mechanical Engineering Manager: Detail oriented and self-motivated Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills Knowledge of industrial equipment and applications Background in: Electrical - VFD's, various electrics foreign and domestic, Hydraulics, Gearboxes - sizing, torques, capabilities, and Metallurgy is beneficial Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field is required along with a minimum of 5 years experience.
