The Robotics Operations and Supply Chain organization sources and manufactures a portfolio of robotics technology and is responsible for getting the right materials to the right place at the right time to support our network of global fulfillment and transportation solutions. It's an operation that works cross-functionally with teams across the globe, and is driven by data and metrics. The Robotics Supply Chain team is seeking a Manager to lead our Global Commodity Management team. In this critical role, you will oversee a team of Sr. Global Commodity Managers responsible for sourcing and managing a portfolio of robotics technologies and components that power our innovative fulfillment and transportation solutions. Essential to the role is a level of technical subject matter expertise to work effectively with the technical teams developing these robotic products. While it varies by group, this expertise includes an understanding of the technologies and architectures of the robotic products and key commodities that make up the robotic products, including the technology's development and integration strategy and trajectory, both within Amazon and its wider position in the business and industry. Key job responsibilities Lead and develop a high-performing team of Sr. Global Commodity Managers, providing mentorship, coaching, and career development opportunities. Set the strategic vision and direction for the Global Commodity Management team, aligning with product roadmaps and business objectives. Cultivate deep expertise within the team on the technical aspects, manufacturing processes, and cost drivers for key commodities. Oversee the development and execution of sourcing strategies that drive supplier relationships, cost optimization, quality, and supply chain risk mitigation. Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and program teams to translate technical requirements into effective sourcing strategies. Lead initiatives to drive global supplier performance, cost reduction, and lead-time improvements. Own the reporting and communication of team progress and impact to senior stakeholders. Work with product teams in developing negotiation strategies for commodities which impacts the product to deliver against business objectives and achieve sustainable relationships with strategic suppliers pertaining to Amazon Robotics products supporting the priority programs as driven by the Operating Plan (OP) Represent the Global Commodity Management team on strategic projects and decision-making forums. Occasional travel to supplier sites, approximately 20%. Key functional skills include people leadership experience, extracting insights from data and driving actions, and strong communication skills to influence cross-functional stakeholders in executing commodity strategies. Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or other technical discipline (Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations, Supply Chain management will be considered with 3+ additional years of technology focused supply chain work). 5+ years of experience in supply chain, procurement, or commodity management, with a proven track record of managing high-performing teams Deep technical expertise in areas such as robotics, mechatronics, or manufacturing processes Demonstrated ability to translate complex technical requirements into effective sourcing strategies and supplier management Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to drive data-driven decision-making Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with a proven track record of influencing cross-functional partners Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in Business Administration, Industrial or Operations Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. Demonstrated ability to work in an ambiguous environment while prioritizing and managing multiple stakeholders, responsibilities, and delivering multiple first-of-their-kind programs Experience implementing repeatable processes and driving automation or standardization. The base pay for this position ranges from $146,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $242,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
