Job Title: Physical Therapist Job Specialty: Physical Therapy Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days, primarily Monday - Friday, generally 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM. Weekends required 1 weekend/month. Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week Experience: Minimum of 1 year of acute care experience preferred License: PT License required (willing to obtain) Certifications: BLS required Must-Have: Experience in a large hospital setting Job Description: - Conduct evaluation and treatment of acute inpatient cases, catering to a diverse patient Perform treatments in therapy departments and/or bedside, potentially Demonstrate clinical reasoning and provide assessments and clinical judgments in a fast-paced environment.- Communicate patient status, needs, and discharge recommendations with varied disciplines; attend interdisciplinary team rounds.- Act as a team player, assisting co-workers and supervising PTA and therapy aides.- Utilize standard therapy equipment and medical devices, including oxygen, wound vacs, catheters, and chest tubes.- Work with a computerized documentation system.- No expectation to float to other departments.- This position is within a 500+ bed hospital, averaging 12-14 PT patient evaluations/treatments a day.- Orient and collaborate with a mentor for consistent training across gyms and floors, with orientation based on prior acute care experience.
