The Business Development Director will be a strategic business partner responsible for leading a sale toward developing and expanding new business opportunities within their customer accounts. This individual will play a lead role in facilitating, inputting to and supporting the development of operational solutions that deliver on our sales targets and clients' commercial strategy. Success in this role is defined by the ability to secure high-value contracts, build strong client relationships, and contribute to the company's market expansion and profitability. Summary of Responsibilities: Commercial Strategy Development Creates and implements business development strategies to drive growth and meet revenue targets. Develops account plans and partnerships with key accounts. Provides general intelligence on key competitors. Assists in determining margins and pricing with Client Services. Sales Targets & Client Acquisition Achieves annual sales plan and sales targets for assigned accounts. Establishes, nurtures and grows client relationships at the appropriate levels. Sells the business unit's capabilities and differentiation frameworks. Evaluates quotations for territory and provides inputs to ensure client and company requirements are met. Manages internal communication and document territory and client information as required for the business unit. Responsible for Opportunity Management and accurate pipeline forecasting. Participates in proposal scope development as appropriate. Leads client presentations. Qualifications (Minimum Required): Bachelor's degree or equivalent and relevant formal academic qualification Knowledge and understanding of the principles of drug discovery and drug development in order to strategically generate leads Strong customer relationship management skills and commercial acumen Strong negotiation skills: direct face to face negotiating experience with major clients Demonstrated ability to acquire and grow client base Demonstrated skills in leadership, strategic selling, negotiating, presentation and financial/business acumen Strong organizational agility and demonstrated drive for results Demonstrated executive presence and proven skill to influence at all levels of the organization Ability to work collaboratively within a matrixed team environment *Fortrea may consider relevant and equivalent experience in lieu of educational requirements Experience (Minimum Required): A minimum of 3 years of experience in business development within the Clinical Research, Pharma and/or Biotech industry. A minimum of 5 years of experience in other professional roles involving direct client interaction, external stakeholder management and sales. Pay Range: $125,000-$150,000 base USD Benefits: All job offers will be based on a candidate's skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data.
