The Woolwich Distribution site is one of two new U.S. distribution hubs opened within the last year to enhance and streamline our delivery operations. We're aiming to elevate the customer experience and generate cost savings with state-of-the-art technology and standardized processes. But none of it can happen without you - the people who power our operations and ensure that our customers receive our life-saving therapies when they need them. The Distribution Supervisor plays a critical role in overseeing shipping and receiving operations, ensuring efficient handling of materials and products within a central warehouse environment. This position requires strong leadership skills to manage a team of operational staff and ensure adherence to shipping practices, procedures, and logistical requirements Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned. · Supervise a team engaged in both manual and clerical shipping and receiving duties. · Utilize computer systems for tracking, logging, verifying, and reporting on shipments and inventory. · Ensure compliance with shipping practices, procedures, and transportation schedules. · Receive incoming materials or prepare materials for shipment, including packing and unpacking items. · Verify quantity, weight, and quality of materials received against specifications. · Log receipt of items, process freight bills, packing lists, bills of lading, and other necessary documentation. · Manage routing to ensure accurate and timely delivery of merchandise. · Provide tactical and technical supervision to team members, ensuring tasks are completed according to established procedures and daily service level targets. · Plan operational objectives for the team, focusing on resource allocation and productivity. · Adjust or recommend enhancements to department processes and systems. · Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders, external customers, and vendors to resolve issues and optimize logistics. · Supervise day-to-day work activities, including scheduling, prioritizing tasks, and ensuring workflow continuity. · Provide input into hiring, firing, promotion, and performance management decisions for direct reports. Required Knowledge and Experience: Understands basic management approaches such as work scheduling, prioritizing, coaching and process execution. Requires 1+ years of experience with a high school diploma or equivalent. Preferred Qualifications: Additionally, the following skills and qualifications are desirable: · Broad knowledge of technical or operational practices within the distribution discipline. · Proficiency in using computer systems for tracking and reporting shipments and inventory. · Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a team effectively. · Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact across all organizational levels. · Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. · Experience with systems thinking, quality management, and technology awareness. · Familiarity with lean principles, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies. · Previous experience in a role requiring supervision of shipping/receiving operations. · Certification in logistics or supply chain management (e.g., APICS, CSCMP). Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$61,600.00 - $92,400.00 This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP). The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others). Salary ranges for U.S (excl.
