Responsibilities * Ensures that all Joint Commission requirements for Emergency Preparedness are met. Participates in several internal and external committees. * Collaborates to ensure accuracy on educational programs related to Emergency Preparedness. * Participate in the assessment, development, implementation and evaluation of emergency preparedness education to participants which may include licensed healthcare professional, hospital staff, patients and families or the general public. * Provides direct service to internal or external customers. Provides a quality of service that customers describe as excellent. * Communicates effectively with diverse audiences, using appropriate media and language. Ensures important messages are clearly understood. * Provides feedback for improvement of procedures. Assists in the development and implementation of specific procedures. * Responsible for planning, coordination, training and exercise evaluation, and maintenance of organizational emergency management plans for both internal and external events. * Coordinates the planning of hospital disaster/emergency preparedness exercises, in partnership with other agencies such as Central Ohio Trauma System, County Emergency Management and Homeland Security agencies, and other appropriate agencies having jurisdictional authority. * Identifies equipment and supply needs, provides input for capital and operational budgets related to emergency preparedness activities. * Stays knowledgeable of related topics in the field. Identifies areas/issues appropriate for research study, including developing conditions in community/world. Qualifications Education Requirement: * Bachelor's Degree in a relatable field such as healthcare administration, emergency management, education, instructional design, required. * Master's, preferred.
