Apply for Job Job ID 73922 Location Sacramento Full/Part Time Full Time Add to Favorite Jobs Email this Job Job Summary Under the general supervision of the Extramural Finance manager, this position serves as a team leader, overseeing the day-to-day grants management of funds/projects, engages in compliance reporting, provides administration of sponsored projects, intramural awards, gifts, endowments, etc. to support and maintain an organizational research infrastructure. This position provides financial and analytical support in all areas of fiscal management related to extramural funding for the Department of Internal Medicine. This position is required to interpret policy and procedural guidelines to ensure compliance. This position requires an in-depth knowledge of University, Campus, and UCDH Fiscal and Accounting policies, procedures, practices, and organizational processes. This position is responsible for the direct supervision of four Financial Analyst III positions. The individual independently organizes and determines work priorities to accommodate all deadlines for the incumbent and direct reports. Direct supervision of reports as well as review, approval, and evaluation of their work is included in this position. Responsible for accurately maintaining extensive files, including back-up documentation for all transactions by account, and approving transactions submitted by direct reports. This position requires using a computer monitor and keyboard for extended periods of time. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or closely related field or equivalent experience/training. Must have at least 2 years of experience in extramural/grant portfolio management or closely related field. Financial and business management skills and experience to perform extensive in-depth budgetary and financial analyses. Demonstrated experience and working knowledge of financial policies, practices, systems, budgetary cycles, personnel/payroll practices, business agreements, and/or similarly complex administrative systems. Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles with diverse fund restrictions, fund accounting and research-related accounting. Organizational skills sufficient to successfully assess, categorize and work with large amounts of information and data. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively across the organization at all levels. Ability to train others on University proprietary applications such as Aggie Enterprise (Oracle), Aggie Expense (Concur), Kuali, UC Path, Ecotime, Decision Support, Cognos, and other systems. Must have experience and ability to interpret Policy and Procedures and financial manuals to understand and apply specific policies and procedures, including the understanding of internal control practices and impact on protecting University resources. Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, or closely related field or equivalent experience/training. Leadership or Supervisory experience.
