Main Purpose: The Finance team of Trafigura is organised between regional CFOs (North America, South America, China and Asia Pacific) and product responsibilities (Corporate Finance, Trade Finance, Treasury, TFS, Structured Trade Finance etc). The Structured Trade Finance ("STF") team is integral to Trafigura's core activities as it is responsible for origination, structuring, financing and mitigation of risk associated with the sourcing and trading of crude oil, petroleum products, metals and minerals, power, gas and renewables encompassing a diverse range of international producers and consumers, by means of providing pre-payment, pre-export, tolling, barter, intermediation, etc financing structures. This is a highly strategic department which structures and manages approximately USD 6 billion of deals for our core trading departments. Knowledge Skills and Abilities, Key Responsibilities: Finance professional with experience in the oil and gas and/or metals and mining sectors from banking, private equity, industry or consultancy environment. Familiar with or experienced in project finance or structured trade and commodity finance and have a sound understanding of the financial, processing, distribution and geo-political risks associated with the natural resources sector, as well as strong derivatives knowledge. At least 10 years of relevant financial experience (e.g. structured trade finance, emerging markets structuring, portfolio management, investment banking, hedge fund etc). Broad understanding of Corporate Finance. Pragmatism and experience to balance business development and risk management to ensure financing stability. Track record of managing a large and high performing team across multiple locations. Effective leadership and influencing skills. Fluent in English. A second language would be beneficial. Key Responsibilities Manage a team of approximately 30 FTEs, based in Houston, Calgary, Montevideo, Geneva, Dubai, Johannesburg, Mumbai, Singapore and Shanghai. Oversee the structuring and execution of financing solutions to support and expand Trafigura's trade flows, including pre-export financing, strategic inventory financing and other structured forms of lending. Work closely with leaders of trading divisions to set the strategic direction and areas of focus for the STF team. Member of the core global finance management team, defining the finance strategy for sourcing and funding, as well as the organisational structure. Analyse and select best available innovative financial solutions across different levels of the capital structure and tenors (short, medium or long-term financing). Responsible for execution and documentation risk. Responsible for distribution and funding via limited recourse financing, insurance, capital markets, alternative financing providers etc. Source new monies with regional banks and other alternate sources of monies with structures that are compatible with trade flows and/or overall funding needs. Support and develop the team as well as be alert to changes and promote innovation. Work closely with other departments besides trading, including legal, risk management and operations to ensure smooth execution as well as alignment with the group's risk limits (sectors, countries, etc). Management Responsibilities Member of the Finance Management Group. Manage and lead a geographically dispersed team of approximately 30 team members. This includes staffing, performance management, developing talent and coaching the team. Monthly reporting, with the assistance of the Portfolio Management team in Mumbai. Travel extensively to (i) support the global STF team and (ii) participate in business development meetings with customers.
