Position Overview SCOPE OF ROLE : The SSVF Director of Social Services (DSS) will manage daily service delivery of specialized services within the Supportive Services for Veteran Families program, including health navigation, coordination of care for veterans with high-service needs, and oversight of the Senior Service Coordinator the team in NYC. The SSVF DSS will support their staff and program participants in accessing and incorporating trauma-informed, person-centered supports, and will be dedicated to the core values of S:US and the VA SSVF program. The SSVF DSS effectively manages and develops their staff, exhibits fluency in rapid rehousing and homeless prevention practices standards, and drives effective and impactful programming and excellence in service delivery. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Leads staff in daily operations of SSVF health navigation and case management services.. Oversees the delivery and coordination of core SSVF supportive services and contracted supports such as legal aid, housing stability planning efforts, health navigation, temporary financial assistance and other eligible services. Adapts and improved service models to be responsive to a changing environment and individualized needs/goals of the veteran families we serve. Provides program and professional supervision, leads required staff and project management team meetings and trainings, monitor program outcomes. Participate in program/division management meetings as needed and facilitates staff meetings, case conferences, COC/partners meetings as appropriate. Confirms services are delivered in accordance with agency culture, mission, vision and values and SSVF program guide/grant agreement. Ensures that services are person-centered and housing stability plans are driven by persons/veterans served by the program, focused on individuals households' unique needs, preferences and desired outcomes. Develops, monitors and evaluates all program work plans, outputs and outcomes to ensure goals are met. Identify and implement actions to improve goal attainment as necessary. Assist with accreditation reviews, monitoring visits and program audits. Enforces corporate compliance protocols, S:US employee policies, procedures, protocols, and incident management policies, procedures and protocols. Monitors, assess and report on the delivery and documentation of core services and supports for veterans and their families. Establishes and reinforces the use of best practices for best-in class service delivery and documentation. Coordinates SSVF operations as part of the Veterans Services management team Responds to stakeholder needs promptly, accurately and with courtesy and respect. Models appropriate behavior and represents the organization in a positive and appropriate manner. Provides leadership for the team, especially training, supervision, problem-solving for difficult or stagnant cases, and guidance on documentation standards, as directed by Division leadership. Assists in the implementation and development of best practices in the field and SSVF Practice Standards. Remains current and updated on new regulations, policies, industry trends, and best practices. Collaborates with the team on training and program specific orientation for new hires and program staff. Represents the agency and programs and in a professional manner to funders, consumers, potential consumers, referring agencies, network members, etc. Builds and maintain excellent rapport with all community stakeholders and service partners. Perform other duties as required Qualifications REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Bachelor's Degree Required. · Minimum of 4 years of professional experience, including at least 2 years of managerial experience in a professional function · Effective written and oral communication skills. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS Leadership capability to manage, coach, and develop program staff and managers. Qualified applicants will have a demonstrated ability to develop and manage relationships with funders, partners and within the service community. Staff member will be expected to work across all five boroughs of NYC and be flexible with field work, emergency response and scheduling to meet the needs to program and people served. ID
