Summary The incumbent performs as a Housekeeping Aid Leader within the Environmental Management Service (EMS). He/she works at the Sacramento Valley location and is responsible for performing all housekeeping duties and tasks assigned to clean and disinfect all areas within the healthcare system. Responsibilities Major duties include but are not limited to the following: Incumbent is responsible for maintaining a pre-designated area or general location in an aseptic condition to include clinics, inpatient care units, surgical care units, laboratories, restrooms, offices, lobby, lounges, locker rooms, stairwells, elevators, corridors, visitor rooms, storage rooms, outpatient clinics, etc. Assists with on-the-job training of new housekeeping incumbents as requested by the supervisor. Incumbent is responsible for maintaining aseptic conditions throughout all areas of the hospital, clinics, administrative areas, and support areas belonging to the healthcare system, whether working alone or setting the pace for those he/she leads. Collects and disposes of trash in proper containers; does not commingle medical, pharmaceutical, or general waste. Maintains housekeeping closet in a clean and orderly fashion, ensuring the proper type and measure of supplies are in stock. Performs a full range of cleaning duties in assigned area. Collects, replenish (bags and containers), and transports solid waste to compactor or trash bins located outside building. Incumbent scrubs, strips, restores, and polishes floors using heavy, industrial-type, powered scrubbers, and buffers. Work Schedule: Varies, must work weekend and holidays Position Description Title/PD#: Housekeeping Aid (Leader)/PD99913A Physical Requirements: Incumbents work tasks need continuous walking, standing, stooping, lifting, reaching and bending. Continuous physical effort is often needed for the manual tasks. Incumbent must be physically able to use power equipment for extended periods of time. Incumbent must be able to lift, carry, or move objects weighing up to 65 pounds, and occasionally objects weighing more than 65 pounds. The duties require reasonable dexterity, hand, foot/eye coordination, and concentration. When collecting trash incumbent must follow specific safety procedures and use appropriate personal protective equipment including face shields, safety goggles, protective clothing, gloves, etc. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement. EXPERIENCE: A specific length of training and experience is not required, but you must show evidence of training or experience of sufficient scope and quality of your ability to do the work of this position. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities.
