The Opportunity DataGrail is looking for a Controller to build accounting and financial operations from the ground up. As the first accounting hire, you will apply everything you've learned in your career in a new way, creating best practices from day one. As a leader in a high growth company that has an incredible product, customer base, and team, you'll have extensive visibility into and direct participation in many key business decisions as a trusted partner to the leadership team. The Skill Set Lead the accounting close activities including processing of journal entries, managing the month-end close, and preparation of all major balance sheet account reconciliations. Run the Company's day-to-day accounting operations, including the general ledger, AP/AR, payroll review, and other accounting activities. Advise senior leadership on the technical accounting treatment for new transactions as they arise. Coordinate with external financial and tax audits. Prepare management reporting, financial statements, and board presentations. Drive the cross-functional business partnership with other department owners. Evaluate and lead the continuous improvement of the Company's accounting practices, policies, control procedures, and system enhancements with a focus on scaling the Company's processes and educating senior leadership about the implications to ensure continued compliance with US GAAP. Be the accounting organization's subject matter expert, staying apprised of new system updates, providing training and guidance to new and existing team members, and contributing to ongoing integrations. Have the opportunity of a lifetime to help build a dynamic global company. Within 90 Days, You'll Have brought the financial close and accounting processes in-house from a 3rd party provider. Kicked off a financial ERP selection process. Completed your first financial close at DataGrail. Built relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organization. Within 180 Days, You'll Be nearing the completion of a financial ERP implementation. Running a timely close process. Leading the day-to-day financial operations of the company (treasury, A/R, and A/P). Overhauled our financial reporting and board package. Become a trusted advisor and financial partner to the leadership team. Built relationships with key third-party partners (audit, tax & banking). Within 365 Days, You'll Ensured our financial statements are GAAP compliant and kicked off our annual audit process. Have been a key member of the next fiscal planning cycle and aided in the preparation of the FY "˜25 budget. Developed a longer-term growth strategy for the accounting team and financial needs of the business.
