Together, we can create a brighter future for those who need it most! This position will be located at our College for Officer Training (CFOT) near Wrigley Field on the North Side of Chicago. CFOT operates as a unique educational program for The Salvation Army that trains our ordained pastors or "officers" for service in our community. With a position on our campus, you will have the opportunity to work in a supportive and mission-driven environment that affects positive change for those we serve. Job Objective: Maintain assigned buildings associated with the College for Officers Training through general cleaning and upkeep. Essential Functions: Perform general cleaning throughout the CFOT campus, including sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, dusting, emptying trash, washing windows, and cleaning bathrooms. Maintain and clean classrooms. Keep janitor closets clean and organized. Clean apartments after events and rentals. Perform detailed cleaning of assigned spaces. Wash and dry soiled linens and clothing using CFOT laundry equipment. Keep laundry equipment and the laundry room area organized. Report all maintenance-related issues to the Property Director. Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications: The requirements listed below are representative of the minimal knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required for this position. Education & Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent. The position requires a minimum of 1 year of experience in facility maintenance OR: Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Skills and Abilities: Ability to speak, write and understand English in a manner sufficient for effective communication with leadership and field personnel. Self-motivated, able to work independently with great attention to detail. Basic computer knowledge Supervisory Responsibility: none Physical Requirements: The physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the duties of this job.
