Overview Colliers Engineering & Design is currently seeking Engineers to join our Telecom team in Mt. Laurel, NJ! Responsibilities Acquire knowledge and develop basic skills in Telecommunications. Apply learned techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform assigned tasks. Demonstrate the ability to work independently and proactively utilize provided resources and support. Demonstrate the ability to prepare low-level complexity general engineering designs and/or technical data for completion and accuracy. Design/draft lease exhibits with parameters provided. Perform structural analysis and modification design of telecommunication infrastructure (mounts, towers, equipment platforms, etc.) including generating accurate analysis models and CAD drawings. Attend site visits with senior staff members. Conduct as-built site audits. Design/draft basic zoning & construction drawings (modification sites, co-location sites, etc.) with parameters provided. Review zoning ordinances and regulations to determine applicable requirements. Apply understanding of applicable building codes and design standards (ANSI/TIA, AISC, ACI, NEC, NESC, etc.) to design. Identify basic off-the-shelf components for site design and antenna mount upgrades. Assist with other project related tasks such as permit applications, material testing, drawing evaluation, and CAD work. Exercise judgment on details of work and work under direct supervision on all aspects of tasks assigned. Work within RISA 3D, TNX Tower and AutoCAD Civil 3D to successfully complete projects within established budgets and deadlines. Exhibit understanding of basic Telecom in site design (antenna types, wiring diagrams, RFDS sheets, equipment types, etc.). Qualifications Bachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering is required. EIT or those seeking certification are preferred. Increasing proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D. Ability to travel to project sites as needed, including possible overnight trips. Prior experience with Telecommunication projects is a plus. Ability to read, write, and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.
