Position Summary : The Business Development Senior Coordinator - Finance, Capital Markets, Restructuring and Insolvency ("Senior Coordinator") is responsible for supporting various business development efforts and initiatives across transactional practices of the Firm (including Finance, Capital Markets, Restructuring and Insolvency). This includes supporting in the creation of content, including tailored pitches and legal directory submissions, executing on the Finance/Capital Markets matter management process, and assisting in the successful execution of various strategic initiatives focused on growing the Firm's business. A successful candidate is expected to perform all responsibilities with a commitment to providing superior client service to the Firm's attorneys and business service professionals. The Coordinator will interact and communicate with the entire Marketing and Business Development Department, Firm partners and other attorneys, external vendors and service providers, and other business service professionals. The Coordinator will report to the manager of business development covering these practices. Duties & Responsibilities: Creates and maintains tailored materials for various business development opportunities including pitches, client presentations, attorney biographies, RFP's and other client facing materials. Collaborates with cross-functional departments to provide deliverables for ongoing marketing efforts. Coordinates with Business Development colleagues in other practice areas on collaboration initiatives. Maintains representative engagement and client lists (by practice and industry) for new business development opportunities. Ensures the Firm's library of collateral materials for assigned practices is updated regularly to appropriately reflect experience and expertise. Executes in the collection of matter experience for assigned practice groups for inclusion in the Firm's databases and when necessary, spearheads external promotion in coordination with the Firm's internal PR team. Handles league table submissions and industry survey content for assigned practices. Understands key submission guidelines and develops relationships with agencies, including Bloomberg, Thomson Reuters, and Debtwire, to help negotiate credit. Drafts key directory submissions for assigned practice areas (Chambers, Legal 500, etc.), including liaising with relevant attorneys to gather practice information, draft matter summaries and capability/differentiator statements, and help lawyers prepare for researcher interviews. Supports the tracking and analysis of the Associate Business Development Program including tracking analysis and reporting of all Associate BD activities and spend. Supports with the identification of key visibility and other relevant marketing opportunities such as speaking engagements and awards. Supports in key initiatives including but not limited to, relationship tracking, action item tracking, and target client news to support client and industry growth. Assists in the analysis of peer firm research and client/industry background materials as needed. Assists with the execution of individual attorney and practice business plans. Supports business development team members and practice group management team on special projects as assigned/needed Education / Experience : 4-year college degree required. Minimum of 1 to 3 years of experience in marketing and/or business development within a medium to large professional services environment. Experience with content related to finance, capital markets, restructuring and insolvency a plus. Skills & Abilities : Must work with strong intellectual curiosity and resourcefulness. Must possess rigorous attention to process and detail, with overall pride of workmanship. Must be comfortable in a fast-paced environment working under pressure and prioritizing competing responsibilities within tight deadlines without sacrificing quality. Ability to create tailored materials that require minimal direction or review from supervisors or project leaders. Demonstrates a solid understanding of the Firm's business and clients. Clearly demonstrates the ability to work effectively across various projects and assume new challenges. Outstanding interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with a variety of people and departments. Works collaboratively ("team-first mentality") to ensure the best possible experience and results for our internal and external clients. Ability to process information from a wide variety of sources. Develops clear, concise and well-structured written and verbal communications. Clearly demonstrates good judgment and decision-making skills. Demonstrates flexibility and ingenuity to respond to changing demands. Maintains a "continuous improvement" mindset and motivates others on the team to innovate. Must be highly skilled in MS Suite - Excel and PowerPoint. Experience with marketing-related internal and external databases preferred. The actual salary offered will be based on a number of factors including but not limited to the qualifications of the applicant, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. New York Salary Range $80,000-$90,000 USD
