TechOp Solutions is seeking an experienced Editor with strong communication skills and a background in working within government environments. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, efficient, and capable of thriving in a fast-paced setting. This role requires proficiency in supporting teams by editing and refining a variety of documents, ensuring clarity, consistency, and adherence to government standards. The Editor will play a key role in analyzing editorial needs, developing practical solutions, and contributing to the continuous improvement of document quality and compliance with government standards. Review and edit technical documents for grammar, punctuation, style, clarity, and technical accuracy Initiate drafts and/or edit responses to letters, memos, briefing memoranda, and other executive correspondence using template language and adhering to standard formatting styles. Proofread and edit a variety of documents, including vague, lengthy, and complex materials, revising content to meet established formatting and style standards. Manage multiple projects, ensuring timely completion while maintaining quality standards. Assist in developing new technical documentation and templates as needed. Administrative Support Ensure all documents are consistent in structure, terminology, and formatting, following agency style guides and standards. Verify that technical documents meet regulatory and compliance standards. Other duties, as assigned Requirements Bachelor's degree or Master's degree from and accredited college (a degree in English, Technical Writing or Communications is preferred). 3-10 years of experience as a technical editor or in a related role. Bachelor's degree from an accredited college, plus 3 years of work experience. Excellent command of English, with strong grammar, punctuation, and syntax skills. Proficiency in using editing tools such as Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat, or XML-based documentation software. Ability to interpret complex information and simplify it for a broad audience. Experience drafting and editing executive-level correspondence such as letters, memos, and briefing documents. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Familiarity with technical writing principles, style guides (e.g., APA, Chicago, IEEE), and standards.
