Find tips on How to Apply and learn more about our agency here : Come Join Our Team The North Carolina Department of Administration is seeking applicants for an Administrative Associate II position (Working Title: Administrative Associate) for our State Construction Division. The State Construction Office is responsible for the administration of planning, design, and construction of all state facilities, including the university and community college systems. This division also provides the architectural and engineering services necessary to carry out the Capital Improvement Program for all state institutions and agencies. The primary purpose of this position is to provide administrative support to ensure that day-to-day operations run smoothly, according to the operational goals of the Division, as well as the Department. This position supports all sections of the State Construction Office. This includes, but is not limited to: Responsible for greeting visitors and callers in a courteous and professional manner at the front desk of the reception area. This includes contact with state agencies, contractors, engineers and architects in the construction industry, legislators, heads of departments of state government and the public, including news media. Responsible for screening calls to determine the appropriate staff person, or outside entity, to handle incoming calls. Maintains a call log that includes names, telephone numbers and type of information caller needed. Opens, date stamps and distributes mail to the appropriate sections and staff. Maintains log of FedEx and UPS mail. Serves as a liaison between public and private organizations regarding construction administration, customer support, and project review assignments. Responsible for preparing reports using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, outlook and Power Point). This position will require an individual who has well-developed interpersonal, communication, organizational, mathematical, typing and computer skills. The position is located in Raleigh, NC (Wake County). The employee must be able to independently organize and execute the requested assignment. Division/ Department Overview The Department of Administration serves as the business manager for North Carolina state government and provides leadership to state government agencies for the effective, efficient, economical and equitable delivery of services to the public. The department also provides assistance and services to several advocacy programs that serve diverse segments of the state's population that have traditionally been underserved. The agency's mission directs departmental efforts to: acquire, develop and maintain properties and facilities; create and operate an efficient system to purchase and dispose of goods and services to meet the needs of government agencies; provide excellent operational services to state employees; achieve fair and equitable opportunities and representation for various segments of the population that have special needs; and to provide administrative support to independent state government agencies.
