Job Posting Title Tooling Engineer Job Description Summary Responsible for coordinating the tooling activities internally and externally as it relates to new die construction, maintenance of tooling, dies, and fixtures. Maintains tool build schedules to ensure quality, cost and on time delivery goals are being met. Job Description Leads all aspects of the tool room activities pertaining to new die construction, customer engineering changes, maintenance of tooling to include die cast dies, trim dies, and fixtures. Performs quoting and requisition process to schedule outside die repair services in conjunction with plant activities. Orders tooling and standard components for new die builds and for non-stock tooling components needed for die rebuilds. Provides time estimates for engineering changes and repair work. Develops cost analysis for internal and customer requested engineering changes. Resolves die related problems that are related to production. Assists Quality in evaluating and resolving corrections needed to produce a dimensionally accurate casting. Maintains a collaborative environment with associates. Develops, evaluates, and leads members of the team. Maintains a motivational climate of continuous improvement. Required Skills and Education Associate degree in engineering or equivalent. 7 years tool & die experience. Working knowledge of Graphic Arts, CAD 3D Package, Pro-E, IDEAS, EKK flow simulation, Blueprints 7 Tolerances. Knowledge of tooling, molding and PM technology. Component and tool design experience.
