Position Details Position Information Recruitment/Posting Title Research Technician (non-teaching class 8) Department SEBS-Dept Marine & Coastal Science Salary Commensurate With Experience Posting Summary The Rutgers University Center for Ocean Observing Leadership (RUCOOL) is seeking a research technician to participate in a seagoing research cruise in the North Atlantic. This project is focused on using teams of underwater robots to study upper ocean submesoscale processes using coordinated teams of autonomous underwater gliders. The applicant will work collaboratively with RUCOOL staff and students, along with partner institutions to carry out physical oceanographic research, specifically aiding in the deployment and recovery of Teledyne Slocum autonomous underwater gliders, aid in carrying out shipboard sampling with a CTD Rosette and/or underway CTD system. Certifications/Licenses Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ideal candidates will be able to work in collaborative teams at sea and have a base knowledge of physical oceanographic processes. Equipment Utilized Physical Demands and Work Environment Must be required to be out at sea for 5-6 weeks.
