Job Title: Lead Electrical Engineer - Substation Project Manager Location Options: Chicago, IL; Atlanta, GA; or New Jersey (Remote Option for NJ) Overview Seeking a Senior Substation Engineer to lead a team in executing high-impact utility engineering projects. This role combines technical expertise with project management, overseeing teams of 10+ engineers, managing client relationships, and ensuring the quality, schedule, and profitability of substation design initiatives. Location & Benefits Flexible Locations: Atlanta, GA; Chicago, IL; or New Jersey--with the option for full remote Work Schedule: Monday í¢â‚¬" Friday, 8 am í¢â‚¬" 5 pm Business casual attire Compensation: Competitive salary of ~ $130,000 í¢â‚¬" $165,000, 80% company-paid benefits, and remote work flexibility ~ 2-3 days per week About the Role Team Leadership: Lead and coordinate cross-functional project resource teams, ensuring effective collaboration and alignment on project goals Project & Client Management: Serve as the primary client interface, maintaining productive relationships, addressing project needs, and managing timelines and quality Quality Assurance: Ensure all project milestones, deliverables, and budgets are met according to client expectations and project scope Documentation & Reporting: Prepare and communicate key project updates, including budget forecasts, milestones, and schedule updates Manage invoicing and project closeouts Proposal Development: Support proposal write-ups, change orders, and review processes while working closely with finance on invoicing requirements What You Bring Experience: Minimum 9 years in Electric Utility Engineering, focused on Substation and/or Distribution Design Experience with clients such as Duke Energy, GA Power, ComED, or similar utilities preferred Education: Bachelorí¢â‚¬â„¢s degree in Electrical Engineering, with PE licensure preferred Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD, and knowledge of IEE codes and standards Familiarity with PSEG/PEPCO/NYPA standards is a plus Client-Management Ability: Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects and delivering high-quality engineering solutions on time and within budget Ready to make an impact in an environment that values quality, integrity, and results?
