Corporate Director of Accounting

The Corporate Director of Accounting at Atlantis Casino Resort Spa is responsible for leading the financial reporting, compliance, and accounting functions of the organization. This role ensures the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial data, empowering senior leadership with actionable insights for strategic decision-making. The Corporate Director will also enhance efficiencies within the accounting team and maintain compliance with regulatory requirements, making this a key role in supporting the resort's financial goals and operational success. Responsibilities Financial Reporting & Compliance Oversee the preparation and distribution of financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP and IFRS. Direct month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes to deliver accurate and timely reports. Collaborate with internal and external auditors to facilitate annual audits and regulatory compliance reviews. Accounting Operations Manage core accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger. Implement and maintain policies that protect assets, control costs, and ensure high standards of financial integrity. Drive efficiency improvements, leveraging automation and technology to streamline processes. Budgeting & Forecasting Support the finance team in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning. Analyze key variances and provide insights to optimize financial performance and resource allocation. Strategic Financial Analysis Assess financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for financial improvement. Work with department heads to support data-driven financial decision-making and align with overall business objectives. Leadership & Team Development Lead and mentor a high-performing accounting team, promoting a positive, collaborative work culture. Provide training and development to ensure team alignment with industry best practices and regulatory standards. Risk Management Identify, monitor, and mitigate financial risks to protect the organization's assets. Ensure compliance with all financial and regulatory obligations specific to the gaming industry. Other duties as assigned my management. Qualifications Education : Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or MBA preferred). Experience : Minimum of 10 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role; experience in hospitality or gaming is advantageous. Technical Skills : Proficiency in accounting software, ERP systems, and advanced Excel skills. Knowledge : Strong understanding of GAAP, IFRS, and relevant regulatory requirements in the gaming industry. Leadership Abilities : Proven success in team leadership, project management, and cross-departmental collaboration.
