Job Description: We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Staff Accountant to join our finance team. In this role, you will support our accounting operations and ensure accuracy in financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to thrive in a collaborative environment. Responsibilities: General Ledger Maintenance: Assist in the maintenance of the general ledger, including posting journal entries, reconciling accounts, and ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial data. Accounts Payable and Receivable: Process accounts payable invoices and payments, and assist in accounts receivable functions such as invoicing and collections. Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports for management review. Ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies. Budget Support: Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts. Monitor budget variances and provide analysis to help management understand financial performance. Audit Preparation: Support the annual audit process by preparing schedules and providing documentation as requested by auditors. Tax Compliance: Assist in gathering information for tax filings and provide support during tax audits. Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis as needed, such as profitability analysis, cost analysis, and variance analysis. Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency. Ad Hoc Projects: Participate in special projects and initiatives as assigned by management. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. 1-3 years of experience in accounting roles, preferably in a corporate environment or public accounting firm. Solid understanding of accounting principles (GAAP) and financial reporting. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (experience with QuickBooks or SAP is a plus). Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment. Preferred Qualifications: CPA candidate or CPA certification. Experience with financial statement analysis and reporting. Knowledge of tax principles and compliance. Experience with ERP systems or other accounting software.
