Your goals, ideas and perspective can help shape our future - we look forward to hearing them!Job DescriptionSummary: The primary role of the Driver is to provide timely, efficient, safe, and courteous hauling service to suppliers andor customers along an assigned route.Duties and Responsibilities: HOME DAILY* Perform daily pre- and post-trip inspections of vehicle. Learn geography of assigned route and surrounding areas. Clean up spills and overflows, and return boxes to their proper area. Operate vehicle with public safety as primary responsibility. Effectively communicate with dispatch and route supervisors, both orally and in writing. Report all accidents, injuries, or maintenance issues in a timely manner. Observe and comply with all applicable federal, state, and local jobsite health and safety regulations, rules, policies, and procedures. Take initiative, self-manage time and productivity through multitasking. Maintain collaborative working relationships with coworkers and customers. Think independently and creatively to solve problems. Contribute to the team dynamic by promoting inclusion, support, and collaboration amongst coworkers. Proactively establish trust and credibility with coworkers by maintaining accountability. Maintain a positive attitude with coworkers and customers. Comply with DOT rules and regulations (i.e. DOT physicals, random drug testing, etc.) in order to maintain Class A CDL. Basic truck mechanics and parts experience. Able to routinely perform physical tasks (i.e. lifting and moving materials, cleaning boxes, opening heavy roll-off box doors, etc.). Preferred Qualifications: Experience in the scrap metal industry preferred. Principles of scrap metal recycling collection preferred. Semi-dump trailer experience preferred.
