Our residents share a bond of mutual respect with our staff that builds memorable and lasting relationships.OverviewUnder the direction of the Caleb Dining Services Supervisor, the Dietary Aide is responsible for the preparation, assembly, service, and delivery of Healthcare and Assisted Living trays. Performs a variety of service-oriented functions including meal service tray line or stations, production of cold foods and sanitation.Essential FunctionsAssembles prepared foods and supplies according to approved recipes, policies and procedures at all times as observed by Supervisor.Maintains tray line or work area in a clean, neat and orderly manner and ensures all equipment and utensils are brought to dish room.Delivers, serves, and carefully puts together resident meals in a pleasant and appropriate manner according to department standards using encouraging remarks to make the meal experience as pleasant as possible.Provides assistance to the resident by observing any needs throughout the meal and offers additional nourishment or alternatives per nursing staff.Delivers nourishments and floor stocks to nursing department using the FIFO rotation method and expiration date according to policy and procedure.Checks tally's against Kardex to make sure all residents meals are accounted for and obtains production information to stock tray line as observed by anizes and cleans work area in a manner conducive to high levels of efficiency, reports equipment malfunctioning, or potential hazards as observed by supervisor or customer response and follows all safety and sanitation procedures.Assists other departmental staff with assigned duties and training with or without verbal requests. Performs duties in an independent manner with minimal need for direct supervision as observed by supervisor.Makes suggestions for improvement in food and service and participates in mandatory and regular meetings, provides input-feedback and checks with supervisor to assure dietary compliance is maintained before any menu substitution is made.Follows all policies and procedures, annual mandatory in-services, required meetings, and all other conditions of employment are consistently met.Performs other duties as assigned.Education and ExperienceMust be 18 years of age or older. High School diploma or equivalent is required.Prior experience working in a health care setting preferred.Must be able to speak, read and write the English language in an understandable manner. Environment and Working ConditionsAbility to focus on task needs and perform intellectual executive functions as related to the functions of the kitchen operation.Ability to execute intellectual tasks and duties under conditions of high demand and distraction.Ability to complete the essential functions of the position with or with adaptive personal devices (e.g., hearing aid, corrective lenses).Ability to operate equipment and technology required for the position.Able to wear personal protective equipment.Must be able to communicate effectively.Able to assist with the evacuation of residents under emergency status to the best of their physical ability.Able to function independently with integrity and work effectively with residents, personnel, and support agencies.Able to constantly stand, walk, and move intermittently throughout the workday.Able to frequently push andor pull a force of up to 15 pounds as relates to rolling food cart, box of food.Able to position oneself to access overhead, outward, mid-thigh, and floor level culinary items.Able to handle, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds occasionally and 35 pounds frequently.Able to frequently perform efforts and tasks as related to culinary work duties, as related to working at kitchen prep tables, procuring supplies or returning times tofrom noted locations, floor level to overhead.HoursFull-time, 40 hours per week: 11:00am to 7:30pm, every other weekendPay$17.00 per hourWhat are the benefits?Working in a Life Plan community will bring out the best in you.
