We offer ample opportunities to cross-train and learn, develop new skills and grow!Job Summary:The Full-Time Lowbed Driver is primarily responsible for transporting heavy equipment from one place to another using heavy, tractor-trailer, and roll-back trucks. This CDL Class A driver will take ownership of all aspects of the haul, from pre to post-trip inspections, complying with DOT Hours of Service and safety regulations.DutiesResponsibilities:Deliver equipment and loads via heavy or tractor-trailer trucks, both inter and intra state routes availableLoad and unload cargo efficiently, safely, and correctly, observing all best practicesCouple and uncouple trailers, including air, electrical, hydraulic lines, and fifth wheel locksObtainmaintain correct documentation for loads (i.e., BOLs, deliveries signed for)Maintain fuelDEF levels, cleanliness of insideoutside truck and trailerReport any road-incidences to dispatch timelyMay be required to perform minor emergency roadside repairsFollow all applicable traffic lawsConduct daily thorough pre and post trip inspections, completing DVIRs thoroughly and correctlyMaintain accurate log via consistent and correct ELD usageUse most efficient and safe route to deliver goods as timely as possibleExercise awareness of CSA scores and individual responsibility to improve themPerform and acknowledge all safety regulations as determined by FMCSA, OSHA, and the Company when completing any and all tasks related to operationsPerforms other related duties as assignedRequirementsRequired SkillsAbilities:2 Years of Class A driving experience (preferred)Valid CDL, Class AAbility to work flexible schedule, including SaturdaysTanker Endorsement (preferred)Works well independently and with othersGood communication skillsOrganized with attention to detailAbility to work in a fast-paced and stressful environmentEducation and Experience:High School Diploma or GEDTruck Driving School CompletionPhysical Requirements:Prolonged periods standing and walkingAble to work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditionsAble to bend, stretch, push, pull, and move as needed to reach, clean, and service machineryMust be able to see to visually inspect machines and verbally communicateMust be able to lift and carry up to 75 pounds regularly, and occasionally lift and carry up to 100 poundsAble to understand enough English to accurately receive dispatch and resolve paperwork (BOLs)Able to remember and understand certain instructions, guidelines or other informationSpecific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focusAble to use hands to touch, handle, and feel, and to reach with hands and arms
