Job DescriptionTHE SALVATION ARMYNORTH CENTRAL ILLINOIS DIVISION ELGIN CORPSPOSITION DESCRIPTIONPOSITION TITLE:Christmas DriverLOCATIONDEPT:Elgin CorpsREPORTS TO:Corps OfficersFLSA CATEGORY: Non-ExemptSTATUS TYPE: TPTOUTCOMESProvide transportation and coordination for kettle season. In doing so, maintains a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that fosters good relationships with clients, co-workers, and supervisors. This includes, but is not limited to, such actions as: resolution of conflicts in a professional manner; courteous treatment of staff, visitors, and clients; respect of others' property and person; and professional and appropriate communication to and about clients, co-workers, and supervisors.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESTransport Bellringers and kettles to and from sites.Help to maintain equipment, checking that all Bellringers are clean and presentable.Provide badges to bellringers when dropped off.Coordinate with Corps Officers on all disciplinary problems.Log drop off pick up times of Bellringers on route sheet and have Bellringers sign-off.Conduct periodical site checks throughout the day to ensure that Bellringers are working.Assist with daily counting of monies as needed.Secure monies always.Ensure compliance with all procedures related to assignments.Other duties as assigned.REPORTING RELATIONSHIPSThis position reports to the Corps Officers. In contacts related to this position's duties, this individual act as a representative of The Salvation Army and its mission.PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENTSThis individual will be evaluated on how effectively the outcomes of this position are achieved, as well as the timeliness, accuracy, and completeness of accomplishing assigned goals.EDUCATIONEXPERIENCE High School diploma or GED preferred but not required.1-year related experience with a good knowledge of the area.Valid Driver's License and good driving record.Clearance of TSA MVR PETENCIESWilling to promote the mission of The Salvation Army.Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work with others.A leader who uses diplomacy and good judgment in working with others.Demonstrated ability to use initiative and be a self-starter.An attention to detail.A positive attitude and the ability to be flexible in light of changing job situationspriorities.An ability to work with money.POSITION LIMITATIONSThis individual will only commit Army resources that have been allocated or approved.This individual will keep the Corps Officers informed on all critical issues relating to their area of responsibility.This individual will adhere to all policies and procedures in carrying out the responsibilities of this position.PHYSICAL DEMANDSWORK ENVIRONMENT This position is required to do light physicalIn order to successfully perform the essential functions of this position the employee is regularly required to drive and set up kettle equipment.This position requires the ability to lift at least 25The work environment for this position included an office or outside environment with a low to high noiseMust be able to drive.
