BASIC PURPOSE Drives truck, van, or automobile over established route to deliver and collect food, toys and suppliesinner-office mail to assist Sacramento County Social Services with Christmas efforts. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES + Drives DOT-regulated truck to pick up and deliver food, toys, supplies and inner-office mail to and from various Salvation Army facilities and community locations. + Keeps accurate mileage records. + Loads truck. + Cleans inside of truck. + Inspects vehicle regularly and reports necessary repairs to supervisor. + Provides warehouse support in absencepresence of Family Services supervisor. + Provides assistance to Family Services Supervisor with pick ups pertaining to Christmas programs. + Maintains an organized and clean work environment. + Adheres to agency's policies and procedures. + Attends trainings as required by The Salvation Army. + Acts as role model within and outside the agency. + Maintains a positive respectful attitude. + Communicates regularly with supervisor about property issues. + Consistently reports to work on time, prepared to perform duties of position. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND OTHER QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS + Must be a person of high integrity, beliefs, and lifestyle, and in agreement with The Salvation Army's mission statement + Ability to work independently and without daily immediate supervision + Ability to work in a team environment, and multi-task required duties. + Must be prepared to encounter a variety of assignments and timelines. + Be able to maintain confidentiality of sensitive materials and information. + Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and have an open, welcoming and helpful presence and attitude with all people. + Ability to learn modern office procedures and equipment. + Knowledge of The Salvation Army practices, policies and organizational resources. + Must be punctual, organized, reliable, honest and responsible . + Must possess a valid California Class C Driver License, and ability to drive a DOT-regulated Salvation Army vehicle + Must be 21 years or older. + Authorize The Salvation Army to add name to the CA DMV Pull Notice Program + Complete The Salvation Army vehicle course training. + Must pass annual Motor Vehicle Report (MVR). PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS + Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or sometimes continuous basis + Ability to grasp, push, andor pull objects + Ability to reach overhead + Ability to lift up to 50-70 lbs. for positions that require lifting + Ability to process written, visual, andor verbal information Qualified individuals must be able to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation.
