With 787 employees 101 active medical staff and 21 Emergency Department beds Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital continually implements and upgrades its technology and recruits employees who understand the vital importance of kindness and compassion in the healing process.Position Summary: Employing excellent customer service skills the Patient Registration Representative is responsible for ensuring apositive patient experience throughout the registration process. Core Duties: Appropriate patient identificationCollecting accurate and thorough patient demographic dataObtaining insurance information and verifying eligibility and benefitsDetermining and collecting patient financial liabilityReferring patients to the Patient Registration Specialist as needed for assistance with financial counseling andor clearance Requirements:Minimum 1 year of experience working in a hospital Patient Registration department healthcare insurance company revenue cycle vendor andor other revenue cycle related 2 years preferredKnowledge of charity care programs as well as the various government and non-government programs preferredHigh School diploma GED or equivalentThorough understanding of insurance policies and proceduresWorking knowledge of medical terminologyAble to perform basic mathematics for payment calculationExperience in requesting and processing financial paymentsIntermediate to advanced computer skills
