About the Grant Accountant Position: Our client is a dedicated non-profit organization whose work is powered by a variety of grants. They are looking for a skilled Grant Accountant to help ensure their funding is managed effectively and compliantly so they can continue to make a meaningful impact in the communities they serve! The Grant Accountant position is a 4-month contract with the possibility of being extended. Essential Functions for the Grant Accountant: The Grant Accountant will manage all financial aspects of grants, including budgeting, reporting, and compliance. Prepare financial reports for internal and external stakeholders, including grantors and auditors. Track, reconcile, and monitor grant expenditures to ensure accuracy and compliance with grant terms. Assist in the preparation of grant applications by providing accurate budgetary information. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and private grant regulations. Conduct regular audits to verify accurate allocation of expenses to grants. Coordinate with program managers and other departments to ensure financial and programmatic objectives are aligned. Maintain detailed records of all grant-related activities and financial transactions. Preferred Requirements for the Grant Accountant: Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field (CPA is a plus). The Grant Accountant should have a minimum of 1-3 years' experience in grant accounting. Strong understanding of federal, state, and private grant compliance requirements.
