Job DescriptionProvide transportation and coordination for kettle season. In doing so, maintains a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that fosters good relationships with clients, co-workers and supervisors. This includes, but is not limited to, such actions as: resolution of conflicts in a professional manner; courteous treatment of staff, visitors and clients; respect of others' property and person; and professional and appropriate communication to and about clients, co-workers and supervisors.POSITION TITLE:Christmas DriverLOCATIONDEPT:EnglewoodRed Shield CenterREPORTS TO:Christmas Coordinator Corps OfficersFLSA CATEGORY: Non-ExemptSTATUS TYPE: Temporary Full-TimeESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Transport Bell Ringers and kettles to and from sites.Help to maintain equipment, checking that all kettle workers are clean and presentable.Provide badges to workers when dropped off.Coordinate with Kettle CoordinatorCorps Officer on all disciplinary problems.Log drop off pick up times of Bell Ringer on route sheet and have Bell Ringer sign-off.Conduct periodical site checks throughout the day to ensure that workers are working.Assist with daily counting of monies as needed.Secure monies at all times.Ensure compliance with all procedures related to assignments.Other duties as assigned.EDUCATION EXPERIENCEHigh School diploma or GED preferred but not required.1 year related experience with a good knowledge of the area.Valid Driver's License and good driving record.Clearance of TSA MVR PETENCIESWilling to promote the mission of The Salvation Army.Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work with others.A leader who uses diplomacy and good judgment in working with others.Demonstrated ability to use initiative and be a self-starter.An attention to detail.A positive attitude and the ability to be flexible in light of changing job situationspriorities.An ability to work with money.PHYSICAL DEMANDSWORK ENVIRONMENTThis position is required to do light physical order to successfully perform the essential functions of this position the employee is regularly required to drive and set up kettle equipment. This position requires the ability to lift at least 25 lbs.
